Symposium on Land Cleanup and Revitalization in NYC: Using City Resources to Navigate the Cleanup Process

November 21, 2016

Impact Senior Project Manager Ben Hernandez spoke at the “Symposium on Land Cleanup and Revitalization in NYC: Using City Resources to Navigate the Cleanup Process”, hosted by the New York City Office of Environmental Remediation (OER). The talk focused on Impact’s successful remediation of soils contaminated with chlorinated solvents and municipal solid waste at 92 West Tremont in Bronx, NY, and redevelopment into affordable housing for senior citizens. Impact successfully reclassified soils with NYSDEC, saving the client close to a million dollars in disposal fees and taxes. The Site was entered into the OER’s Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP), which was instrumental in the success of a highly complex project with multiple stakeholders.
