Cleanup and Redevelopment

Impact Environmental assumes cleanup and redevelopment of a former DuPont facility in East Chicago, Indiana.

This is the environmental cleanup of a 425 acre facility that housed over 55 buildings formerly operated by DuPont. Since the property’s initial construction by the Grasselli Chemical company in 1905, it has undergone aggressive remediation to support the redevelopment into a premier industrial warehouse complex servicing the Chicago market. The property benefits from access to the nearby Gary International Airport and extensive highway systems. Remediation includes construction of an earthen protective cap and permeable reactive barrier walls for groundwater polishing.
